Salvaged Components Become Art
Recently, Caterpillar France unveiled Suspended Reflection, a sculpture made of salvaged steel components. Erica Mancuso, Caterpillar graphic designer located in Peoria, Ill., created the work of art, and it was assembled by Caterpillar France employees in Grenoble.
The creative approach Mancuso took was inspired by Jean-Paul Salomon’s idea, a Grenoble employee working for Undercarriage Engineering and also a sculptor.
“Suspended Reflection is an artistic symbol linking Peoria to Grenoble. It powerfully highlights Caterpillar employees' teamwork and engagement, since it was designed by Erica Mancuso from Peoria and the pieces were welded and assembled by Caterpillar France operators in Grenoble,” said Eric Lepine, Managing Director for Caterpillar France.
“Suspended Reflection was created with all of you in mind and celebrates the connection that we all share in working for this incredible company,” said Erica Mancuso.
