Caterpillar’s Employee Assistance Program Receives International Quality Award

Caterpillar's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) was recently awarded the EAP Quality Award by the Internal Employee Assistance Professional Association.
The EAP Quality Award is given to employee assistance programs that have taken extraordinary steps in measuring the services they provide and working toward excellence. Caterpillar's EAP received this award to reflect the unusual partnership between Caterpillar and EAP vendor Chestnut Global Partners. Caterpillar and Chestnut have established rigorous program metrics and processes for quality improvement. Most notable, the team has been recognized as global leaders in implementing new measures to evaluate the impact EAP services have on employee productivity and performance.
Dr. John Pompe and Monica Ratcliff from Caterpillar's Corporate Medical Department accepted the award at the organization's global conference.
During the award ceremony Dr. Pompe said, "Employee health, and particularly mental health, can be one of the largest factors in our employees' success at home and at work. It is a privilege and honor to be in a position to support Caterpillar people—one that none of us take for granted. However, it is essential that we are able to measure what we do in order to improve our services and demonstrate our value."
Caterpillar's EAP provides counseling, consultation and training to thousands of our employees and families around the world each year, including on-site services in the Medical clinics in 12 U.S. facilities, Hosur, India and Burnie, Tasmania. EAP services are available to home-based employees in 43 countries.
