Caterpillar Global Mining Debuts at China Coal & Mining Expo 2011

For the first time in history, Caterpillar Global Mining attended the China Coal & Mining Expo, held in Beijing from October 28-31, 2011. China Coal & Mining Expo takes place every two years and is the largest exhibition for the coal mining industry in China. It is also the largest underground mining exhibition in the world. This year, it attracted more than 400 exhibitors from China and abroad and about 20,000 visitors.

The Caterpillar booth was designed with an open, inviting concept and carried the "Wherever There's Mining" theme. The main exhibit and heart of the booth was the Cat® EL3000 shearer, which was developed for medium to high coal seams.

On October 29, a customer evening was held for over 200 invited guests. The event included a banquet and a series of performances by professional artists including traditional Chinese dancers and singers from the Beijing Opera.
