Caterpillar again named one of “World’s Most Admired Companies”
Caterpillar has again been named to Fortune magazine's list of the "World's Most Admired Companies." In the latest Fortune listing, Caterpillar ranks 27 among the hundreds of companies reviewed worldwide -- an improvement over Caterpillar's 2010 ranking of 35.
The Fortune World's Most Admired Companies study surveys top executives and directors from eligible companies, along with financial analysts, to identify the companies that enjoy the strongest reputations within their industries and across industries.
Attributes of reputation on which companies are evaluated in determining the industry rankings include:
- Ability to attract and retain talented people
- Quality of management
- Social responsibility to the community and the environment
- Innovativeness
- Quality of products or services
- Wise use of corporate assets
- Financial soundness
- Long-term investment value
- Effectiveness in doing business globally
