SEM Completes First Pilot Build of Natural Gas Powered Wheel Loader

Shandong SEM Machinery Co., Ltd. (SEM) is continuing its focus on new energy technology as part of its ongoing commitment to develop fuel-efficient products for the industry. With the collective efforts, the team successfully completed the first pilot build of 650B Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) powered wheel loader in February.

As an efficient energy source, natural gas makes up more than 20 percent of the world's total energy consumption. LNG has a much higher storage density than compressed natural gas, making it more suitable as an alternative to diesel fuel without sacrificing durability and productivity. Meanwhile, LNG is produced both worldwide and domestically at a relatively lower cost.

Targeting at large ports or group enterprises as well as local retail customers with ownership of LNG stations, the SEM 650B LNG-powered wheel loaders are expected to be mass produced later this year and more models will be launched to meet customers' needs in the future.
