SEM ships first four soil compactors to Mongolia market by rail

Shandong SEM Machinery Co., Ltd. (SEM) had a major milestone in June when it shipped its first soil compactor to overseas customers in Algeria. Then, just a few short weeks later, SEM delivered the first four soil compactors - two SEM8218 and two SEM8220 - to customers in Mongolia.
Since its first introduction in early 2010, SEM has sold more than 450 units to customers across China and has obtained a good reputation for performance, quality and reliability. The professional product support the company provides helped win a large amount of customers despite the intense competition. The first export to Mongolia again proves the company's continuing efforts to deploy the overseas market strategy to expand presence of SEM's product lineup in the fast-growing global markets.
Targeting long-distance delivery with larger volume and lower cost, SEM shipped the machines by rail for the first time by working with the local transport authority. The rail shipment marked another milestone in the product transportation practice. The addition of this new transportation method helps lay a better foundation for SEM product exports in the future.
Leveraging the strong technology expertise from both Caterpillar and SEM, the 8200-series soil compactors utilize Caterpillar's unique oscillator design to effectively reduce the generation of internal particles and help extend the machine's lifetime. The hydraulic pipes produced by Cat's facility in Wuxi and the durable machine frames allow the equipment to perform well under the adverse working conditions.
