Cat Financial Brazil Demonstrates Social Responsibility Throughout The Year

With clear commitment to serving the community, Cat Financial Brazil employees have donated time, food and other resources to an orphanage and old age home in Sao Paulo throughout 2012. Lar Efrata Orphanage provides a home to nearly 30 children and Vivência Feliz Asylum cares for 26 adults. Caterpillar employees have demonstrated strong social responsibility by participating in numerous events throughout the year, such as serving holiday lunch, organizing food and clothing drives and visiting the men, women and children routinely.

Cat Financial employees, together with some Machine Business Divisions, Mining and Americas South Finance employees, recently participated in a barbecue for the Lar Efrata Orphanage. Caterpillar employees have been helping the children's home by donating 30 kg (66 pounds) of protein per month since 2003. To celebrate this relationship, the group gathered for a barbeque, where employees engaged in activities with the children, as the girls painted their nails, the boys played soccer and volleyball and another group learned to make toys with recyclable materials. Some employees also brought family members and all enjoyed the day.

"I spent a pleasant and cheerful day with children. They are adorable and have an inner peace that calm and fill us with good energy," said Giuliano Mengozzi, Credit Analyst. "They really are an example for all of us to follow."

As the holiday season draws near, Caterpillar employees in Brazil will continue to support these two institutions. An Angel Party will be held in November for more than 300 children, including those from the La Efrata orphanage. At this event, organized by The American Society of Sao Paulo, Santa Claus delivers gift bags to the children and other holiday activities are available as well. Volunteers sign up to sponsor a child and purchase the items for the gift bags from Santa, including shoes, clothes and toys. Cat Financial employees sponsored all of the children from the orphanage this year, and many employees plan to volunteer at the Angel Party as well.

"It is not an easy work, but the participation by employees in any event at Vivência Feliz or Lar Efrata and the group's commitment to support these institutions is really motivational," commented Cristiane Motta, HR Representative for Cat Financial Brazil.
