Perkins’ Griffin Georgia Facility Creates Sustainable Garden

The Perkins Shibaura facility in Griffin, GA took a unique approach to this year's sustainability initiative. The facility planted a vegetable garden on a portion of the facility's 15+ acres, creating a positive environmental impact, engaging the workforce and helping the community.

The "Perkins Planters" team is comprised of more than 20 employees from various departments who worked together to design, construct, and plant the new facility garden in April this year.

The group planted peas, tomatoes, sweet corn, zucchini and other vegetables. Team members get first choice of garden produce, and the rest will be sold with proceeds benefiting the local Caterpillar United Way campaign.
