Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) –
Supply Chain Management track

The LTDP - Supply Chain Management track will provide you the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Supply Chain Management community. This community includes professionals in production scheduling, demand and orders management, logistics planning, inventory management, packaging, purchasing, and Caterpillar Production System deployment.

Track Overview
The LTDP - Supply Chain Management track is a three-year program. You will complete two one-year rotations in supply chain management which may include material planning, demand and orders planning, inventory management, logistics planning, and packaging. You will also complete a one year rotation in a cross-functional area including but not limited to purchasing, supply chain management, and manufacturing engineering. Assignments are based on business requirements and personal development needs. Facilities are located throughout the United States.

Throughout your time in the program, you will foster your technical and leadership skills through integrated core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a position within the Supply Chain Management community for a two to three year assignment. Placement is determined by a combination of individual preference and business requirements. Positions may include such areas as supply chain planning, production scheduling, master scheduling, logistics planning, material requirements supervision, and inventory management supervision.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
  • Bachelor's degree in (preferred, but not limited to): Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Industrial Engineering
  • Degree from an accredited program or university
  • Passion for leadership and technology
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • Self starter
  • Willing to relocate within the program and upon graduation
