Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) –
Chemical Engineering track
The LTDP - Chemical Engineering track will provide the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Chemical Engineering community. This community includes chemical product and processes related to Specialty Products, Remanufacturing and Advanced Materials Technology, and it collaborates in research and development, engineering, manufacturing and supplier development.
Track Overview
The LTDP - Chemical Engineering track is a three-year program with two challenging rotation assignments. You will spend eighteen months in process engineering and eighteen months in an assignment in research, heat treat, product design, materials engineering or environmental engineering. Assignments are based on business requirements and personal development needs. Facilities are located throughout the United States.
Throughout your time in the program, you will foster your technical and leadership skills through integrated core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a position within the Metallurgical Engineering community for a two to three year assignment. Placement is determined by a combination of individual preference and business requirements. Positions may include such areas as product engineering, process engineering, supplier quality, environmental engineering, research and development, and supervision.
Eligibility requirements:
- Minimum GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Chemistry
- Degree from an accredited program or university
- Passion for technology
- Strong communication skills
- Team oriented
- Self starter
- Willing to relocate for rotation assignments
